SEEDS OF HOPE

NAME : Seeds of Hope  DATE : 2008  LOCATION :  Hope University, Liverpool  CLIENT : Hope University  PARTNERS : Brock Carmichael Architects, NL Williams

AIM

To design a feature mobile for the atrium of Liverpool Hope University’s Gateway Building in 2008, in response to the space, the students and the University.

We aimed to create a memorable entrance to the building, through a suspended 4m weathering steel sculpture.

CONCEPT

The design is simple in its concept, taking its inspiration from the movement of seeds, which mirror the movement of people through this busy building, along with those arriving and leaving Hope University. This a place of nurture and growth that sends students out to the wider world, much like seeds. The Greek lettering transcript  seen along the side, expresses the principals of Faith, Hope and Love, the founding principles of Hope University.
